Rescue Equipment

Manufacturing, importing and supplying Large Animal Rescue equipment since 2012

In 2016 MaryAnne imported this consignment of five rescue training mannequins for some of her clients

Resquip Rescue Glide system

The versatile Resquip modular glide mat system is easy to use, store, transport and assemble. Store and transport the HDPE glide mats flat and assemble them on site via two quick connectors. Mats have matching location holes on all four sides so the galvanised steel glide bar, which features a kick-up for riding over rough terrain, can be attached and pulled on any side. If an animal is too big for a single mat, simply join two mats together.

The adjustable colour-coded Velcro straps allow you to package and transport any size sedated or anaesthetised animal from a small pony to large bull, irrespective of its medical condition. The straps make good use of the animal’s anatomy by distributing the load around (not over) the shoulder and hip, avoiding local pressure on the muscles while keeping the patient steady and preventing it sliding off the glide.

The standard Resquip rescue glide system consists of: 1 tempered aluminium glide bar, 1 D-shackle, 2 HDPE glide mats 1.2 metres x 2.37 metres x 6 mm (a 10 mm heavy duty version is also available at extra cost if required), 4 nylon male mat connectors, 2 nylon female mat connectors, a set of tie-down strops, 4 singular hobbles, instructions. $2000, plus freight.

The 3-part Resquip rescue glide system consists of: 1 tempered aluminium glide bar, 1 D-shackle, three 6 mm HDPE glide mat 1.2 metres wide, 6 mm deep and of various lengths, 6 black nylon male mat connectors, 4 nylon female mat connectors, 1 set of tie-down strops, 4 singular hobbles, instructions. $2400, plus freight.

The 4-part Resquip rescue glide system consists of: 1 tempered aluminium glide bar. 1 D-shackle, 4 HDPE glide mats 1.2 metres wide, 6 mm deep and of various lengths, 8 nylon male mat connectors, 6 nylon female mat connectors, 1 set of tie-down strops, 4 singular hobble, instructions. $2700, plus freight

Set of 3 strop guides

The 2-metre-long large Strop Guide is made from curved, high-tensile, tempered aluminium, the medium and small, which are designed for confined spaces, are made from steel. Each has a handle at one end and hook at the other. Slide the Strop Guide under a recumbent horse, attach the loop on a Rescue Strap to the hook on the leading end, pull the strap back towards the operator and configure it into a forward, backward or sideways skid. $300 each, $900 per set of 3, plus freight.

Nikopoulos needle

Acting in a similar fashion to a suture needle, the Nikopoulos needle guides rescue straps around the torso of a horse or cow trapped in mud, water or a confined space, significantly reducing the stress on the animal and the length of time taken for the rescue. It is a two-metre length of 3/4″ stainless steel tubing bent to follow the curve of an animal’s girth and/or flank. It has a 25mm Storz connector at one end with small holes towards the leading end where there is a loop for attaching a pilot line. Pumping water through the holes in the Nikopoulos needle creates a path through mud that facilitates the needle’s passage. $400 plus freight.

6-metre lead ropes

Heavy limb crooks

Resquip horse rescue training mannequin

The horse mannequin mimics joint articulation, muscle definition and tone of a live horse, helping the customer to train using a model as close to the real thing as possible. The horse is virtually watertight and the legs lock, enabling it to stand unsupported on land or in water or mud. Lifting and pulling eyes on the back and under the belly enable easy placement into challenging scenarios.

The horse mannequin is made from a high-quality, abrasion resistant polymer built around a laser precision-cut metal skeleton. All exposed metalwork is galvanised to increase resistance to corrosion.
