S’mores 11 Ways are a reimagining of the campfire classic. Melty chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and sweet graham crackers—it’s all you need, right? Well, just in case you’re like me and would like to try new and interesting S’mores recipes… I have 11 new S’mores ideas for you to try with your family this summer. Let’s get creative with this very simple dessert!
Two years ago I shared a post packed with unique and creative s’mores ideas. Tasty, decadent s’mores that go beyond the three-ingredient original s’more. I didn’t photograph very many of them so today I wanted to share those ideas again and show you what they’d look like, and remind you that you need to make them!
S’mores 11 Ways
Chocolate Covered Strawberry S’more // Grahams, milk or dark chocolate, fresh strawberries, vanilla marshmallow
I don’t think there’s a bigger s’mores lover out there than me, guys I win (okay just kidding, but gimme top 10 at least). I’ve been making them since I was probably 4, back then with the help of my mom.
Early on I paid close attention to how to make the perfect s’more over the hot coals of a fire (big flames never work nearly as good), rotating the marshmallow at just the right time to get that perfectly golden brown exterior.
Now half the time I just make them over my stove top burner (or over a grill or in the oven with a broiler!) because I want to enjoy s’mores all year long, half the time in the summer I don’t want to build a fire just for a s’more. In my opinion, the indoor ones taste basically the same, especially if you can toast them just right. It’s more about the fun of making them over a fire really. Although, I do love to bake them in my house because I love that sweet aroma of toasted marshmallows filling the air.
The possibilities with s’mores are endless. Of course, the original classic S’mores are always amazing and I can never stop at just one, but if you want to try some of the best S’mores of your life and if you want to impress then explore these new flavors! And try all of them, but trust me you’ll have a hard time picking a favorite.
New S’mores Recipes
Remixing S’mores is all about reconsidering the ingredients you use and how you construct your layers. Instead of a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar, try different types of chocolate bars or chocolate chips! I’m talking Snickers, white chocolate, Cookies and Cream Hershey bars, Reese’s peanut butter cups, or any other chocolate candy you enjoy.
We know we need a toasty marshmallow, but did you know there are tons of different flavors? Fruity gooey marshmallows are fun paired with fresh fruit in the sandwich, and mini marshmallows can work well with oven broil or grill variations (harder to do with a skewer on an open flame, though). Kids love the sticky mess!
Finally, try swapping your graham crackers for another base. Oreos, rice krispie treats, cookies, frozen cake or brownies, or even a salty cracker for a greater depth of flavor.
A few other combinations I love not pictured here are chocolate graham, dark chocolate, and chocolate marshmallow then cinnamon grahams, dulce de leche, bananas, and vanilla marshmallow. If you are a bacon lover try it on the original s’more it adds a crispy, salty twist to it. I also like to add any kind of nut butter to s’mores (i.e. peanut butter) and the Ghirardelli-filled chocolate squares work perfectly for s’mores.
