Viral TikTok Inspired Baked Oats Improved

Baked oats have been around for a years and became very popular from a TikTok recipe.

The difference between these and baked oatmeal is that the ingredients for baked oats are all pulverized in a blender leaving the oats ground up fine, and with baked oatmeal the oatmeal is left whole and everything is just stirred together in a mixing bowl.

Though the ingredients between the two are very similar their textures are quite different. These are more muffin-like while baked oatmeal is more like a chewy oat breakfast casserole. Both are so delicious just unique in their own way.

I tried the viral version of baked oats but felt it was a bit spongy so modified it based off what I thought would offer a better texture (less egg and banana, adding liquid, etc). And I couldn't resist adding a dab of butter, feel free to add two if you'd like for richer oats.

Try all the tasty flavor variations to discover your personal favorite! I'm still trying to pick a favorite myself because I love all of them.

They are a breeze to prepare and they even make a tasty breakfast treat!

Easy Homemade Popsicles

A healthier dessert people of all ages will love! And they are perfect for serving any time of day.

These can be prepared in minutes, it just takes a little patience waiting for them to freeze but it's easily worth the wait.

After just one taste you'll instantly notice they are so much better than any popsicle you can buy at the store. They taste so fresh and fruity, they are only sweetened with honey (no sugar), and if you want to brighten the color you can use natural food coloring.

Sure they have a hint of cream but it makes a big difference in their taste and texture. It's such an enhancing highlight to the fruit - just think of that strawberries and cream or peaches and cream combo. Heaven!

They're amazingly tempting and perfectly delicious, plus a smarter dessert choice than say a big ice cream sundae (but those are great too when you want a splurge, right?).

Make one flavor or try them all! Those I made here include strawberry, peach, pineapple, banana, and blueberry.

Berry Trifle https://www.cookingclassy.com/berry-trifle/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/berry-trifle/#comments Sun, 19 Jun 2022 04:16:32 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=64598 The easiest Berry Trifle recipe - it's layered with lemony angel food cake, a rich and billowy cream cheese whipped cream topping, and an abundance of vibrant fresh fruit. It's a decadent and heavenly dessert!

Layered trifle in a glass trifle dish. It includes cubes of angel food cake, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and a cream cheese whipped cream topping.

The Fruitiest Trifle Recipe

This multicolor trifle is a quintessential summery treat, the crowning finish of any meal. It's loaded with all the best things including cake, berries and lots of cream (that's flavored with cream cheese as well).

And don't be deceived by it's fancy good looks, you'll actually find it really a breeze to prepare. That is thanks to the use of a store-bought cake to save plenty of prep time and no cool time required.

Did I mention it's a no-bake, no-cook dessert as well?

There's just a few simple steps here of chopping, whipping and layering.

And while it's true that many of us may not be big fans of store-bought cakes, this recipe is one of the best ways to doctor up an otherwise boring and slightly dry angel food cake. The secret is in the fresh lemon and honey glaze that's brushed over it.

I think you'll love the flavor in this dessert! Everything here pairs beautifully together and it's sure to be a highlight of any summer gathering!

Blueberry Syrup https://www.cookingclassy.com/blueberry-syrup/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/blueberry-syrup/#comments Wed, 12 May 2021 04:06:55 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=60154 Homemade Blueberry Syrup! It's made with fresh or frozen blueberries, fruit juice, sweetened with sugar, and has a hint of lemon to brighten it up. This is my all-time favorite pancake topping!

Love fruity syrups? Also try my tempting Strawberry Syrup.

The Best Blueberry Syrup Recipe!

When I first really got into cooking, this was one of the first things I made. I would probably dub blueberries my favorite fruit (or top 3, I have a hard time picking absolute favorites), so that only makes sense.

Back then, I used to use water in place of the fruit juice. One day, I realized when you use water in recipes like this, it just waters things down. So why not replace that with something more flavorful that doesn't drown out that blueberry flavor?

When I want to splurge I use blueberry juice (for a more concentrated blueberry flavor) but it's pretty pricey for a small bottle. So grape juice or apple juice are great options too.

This homemade blueberry syrup is fresh, fruity, sweet, flavorful, exceptionally delicious and super easy to make. And it's one of the ultimate upgrades to your weekend and holiday breakfasts.

Plus there are endless ways to use it too, it's not just for pancakes. See the links below (near the recipe box), for ideas. Just remember the whipped cream for most of them!

Once you try this you'll realize that there's so much more to breakfast than maple syrup. Plus it's a hundred times better than the bottled blueberry syrup at the store.

My Favorite Green Smoothie Recipe https://www.cookingclassy.com/green-smoothie-recipe/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/green-smoothie-recipe/#comments Fri, 16 Aug 2019 23:16:55 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=46923 My favorite Green Smoothie recipe! It tastes like a dessert yet it's healthy! It's packed with nutritious fresh spinach, hearty oats, sweet berries and banana, and rich almonds - plus a few secret ingredients you wouldn't find in your typical green smoothie that really make it shine. You'll instantly be hooked!

Green smoothie in a tall glass with strawberries, spinach and bananas to the side.

The Tastiest Green Smoothie!

The great thing about this healthy smoothie is that there's no spinach flavor. You wouldn't believe how the fruit hides the flavor of the spinach even though there's a hefty 2 1/2 packed cups of it.

Even my kids love this smoothie! My daughter says it tastes like pie. And I love that it's a breakfast or midday snack I feel great about feeding them. No artificial flavors or colors, and it's not a bunch of empty carbs (like some of those sugary cereals they like). Plus it keeps us full until lunch.

We call it the Grinch smoothie because even if a food doesn't look so appealing to kids if you give it a fun name it can make all the difference.

Sometimes it comes out with a prettier green than others (who knows it must be the batch of spinach and berries) but every time we love it just the same. I always look forward to breakfast when I know I've got everything stocked to make this! I've been hooked on it all summer.

It's quick and easy, perfectly filling and satisfying, and just perfectly delicious! Who knew healthy could taste so good?

This easy pancake recipe takes just 30 minutes to whip up, and everyone is sure to love them!

Easy Blueberry Pancakes Recipe

Is there anything better than waking up on a weekend morning to a tall stack of fluffy, fresh blueberry pancakes? These homemade blueberry pancakes are pure comfort food and breakfast really doesn't get much better!

They are so soft and perfectly buttery and you get plenty of blueberry flavor in every bite. Because if we are going to add blueberries, let's not be skimpy with them!

I'm a major pancake lover, and I'm also a pancake snubber. I know a good pancake from a bad one. If you are still hooked on the boxed mixes, I highly recommend going the homemade route — you'll never look back once you do.

I did about 15 years ago, and it was basically life changing. The boxed stuff may have its place when you are in a major hurry or to blend into a recipe, but homemade pancakes are nearly just as quick and easy, you just have to measure out a few more dry ingredients.

These blueberry sour cream pancakes are over-the-top delicious and I can practically guarantee your whole family will love them! I know these are a family favorite of ours, especially during the summer months when you can get those juicy, sweet blueberries.

Add these fluffy pancakes to your weekend plans, you'll be glad you did!
